Favorite things Friday

It’s Friday! Thanks to the snow storm that hit Kentucky early this week I had the entire week off of school and work! Wahoo! Although, my professor’s did record over 14 hours of lecture and sent a paper and take home test for us to take. But still I could do it all in my PJ’s! The extra time off gave me the chance to catch up on some non-nursing related reading. Here’s some of my favorite reads from the week, enjoy!

 

Nutrition and Fitness:

Does Reverse Dieting Really Work? This is a great read from the guys at Dynamic Duo Training on Reverse Dieting. you may even see a familiar face in there ;). 

New Dietary Guidelines for Eating Eggs. I love eggs and have never agreed with the recommendation to not eat them. 

 10 Most Annoying People in the Gym. We all know them, but don’t be one of them. Be one of the five awesome types listed!

How to Design an Optimal Glute Training Program. Because you know it’s all about those glutes!

 Passive vs. Active Foot For Squatting Performance.  Something to try out and work on to improve your squats. 

 

Recipes:

Vegan Flourless Banana Bread Muffins.  Yum, these look fantastic! 

White Chickpea Chili.  Perfect for these super cold days. 

Chickpea Pizza Crust. Seriously, I must be on a chickpea kick!

Apple Pie Pancakes. And now I know what’s for breakfast this weekend. 

Apple, White Cheddar, and Spinach Salad.   This just sounds so good and easy. 

 

Life:

Advice as I Turn 30.  I’m not quite turning thirty, but its coming fast and it makes me nervous! 

The Happiest States in America. Turns out I live in one of the worst states! Anyone up for a move?!

Why 50 Shades of Grey is Weird.  For a million reasons I don’t like this book or movie, but this was too funny. What do you think?

 109-Year-Old Woman Shares Her Key to Life.  You might be surprised at what she says. I just love this little lady!
